మేరీలాండ్ రాష్ట్ర‌పు లెఫ్టినెంట్ గ‌వ‌ర్న‌ర్ ప‌ద‌వి అరుణా మిల్ల‌ర్ ను వ‌రించింది. హైద‌రాబాద్ న‌గ‌రానికి చెందిన అరుణా మిల్ల‌ర్ లెఫ్టినెంట్ గ‌వ‌ర్న‌ర్ ప‌ద‌వి ద‌క్కించుకున్న‌ మొట్ట‌మొద‌టి భార‌త రాజ‌కీయ నేత కావ‌డం విశేషం.

మేరీలాండ్ లెఫ్టినెంట్ గ‌వ‌ర్న‌ర్ గా ప్ర‌మాణ స్వీకారం చేసిన అనంత‌రం త‌న విజ‌యానికి కార‌కులైన త‌న కుటుంబ స‌భ్యుల‌ను అరుణా మిల్ల‌ర్ గుర్తుచేసుకున్నారు. వారి కృషి కార‌ణంగానే తాను విజ‌యాల‌ను కొన‌సాగించ‌గ‌లుగుతున్నాన‌ని తెలిపారు. వారు భార‌త‌దేశం నుంచి అమెరికాకు త‌ర‌లిరావ‌డం వ‌ల్లే త‌న‌కు ఈ ప‌ద‌వి ద‌క్కించుకోవ‌డం సాధ్య‌మ‌యింద‌ని అరుణా మిల్ల‌ర్ తెలిపారు.

అరుణా మిల్ల‌ర్ తండ్రి మొద‌టిసారిగా 1960లో అమెరికా కాలు మోపారు. విద్యార్ధిగా కొంత కాలం పాటు అమెరికాలో గ‌డిపారు. ఇక్క‌డి ప‌రిస్థితులు పూర్తికా ఆక‌లింపు చేసుకున్నారు. ఆ త‌ర్వాత భార‌త దేశం వెళ్లి వివాహం చేసుకున్నారు. అరుణా మిల్ల‌ర్ కు జ‌న్మ‌నిచ్చారు. 1972లో అరుణా మిల్ల‌ర్ కు ఏడేళ్ల వ‌య‌సులో అమెరికాకు వ‌చ్చి స్థిర‌ప‌డ్డారు.
